A ‘mentally ill’ man who tried to drive through a CIA checkpoint was wielding a sword at FBI agents and even claimed he had a bomb after they stopped him from entering the agency’s Washington DC headquarters, an FBI source claims.
Roy Gordon Cole was shot at around 6pm on Monday evening after a hours-long stand off with the FBI agents outside the gates of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Langley, Virginia. He was rushed to hospital but died of his injuries the next day.
Cole, who suffered from mental illness, was already known to the CIA’s security team because he had tried to drive into its heavily guarded facility before, according to NBC News.
