WASHINGTON (ABC7) — With just one week until Congress is set to certify President-Elect Joe Biden’s election on January 6, President Trump continues to tweet about a planned pro-Trump protest scheduled for the same day. 

On an almost daily basis, the president has continued to tweet baseless conspiracy theories about widespread election fraud as the only possible reason he could have lost the election.

The National Park Service confirmed to ABC7 that the group Women for America First has submitted a permit application for a protest on Freedom Plaza. NPS said the group plans to set up on Jan. 5 and clean up the day after the event.
