The Beheading Psy-Ops

NYP_SavagesWestern Foreign Policy Based on Sheer Propaganda

By Vivian Lee

With a rash of “beheadings” sweeping the world, a horrified public is asked to see this depraved barbarity as The New Normal.

First we had the August “murder” on video of U.S. journalist James Foley, shown kneeling before a black-robed, masked figure brandishing a knife. Yes, even a rather small knife can do it (just as box-cutters can enable the hijacking of commercial airplanes). The perpetrator is identified as a member of the terrorist group ISIS (or IS or ISIL), which supposedly wants to install a new Islamic caliphate based in the region.

War, Media Propaganda, and the Police State

Uncle_Sam

By James F. Tracy

The Sandy Hook Massacre: Continued Ambiguity and Augmented Realities

Obama_PrayerBy James F. Tracy

A recent report notes that FBI crime statistics reflect no homicides occurred in Newtown, Connecticut throughout the year 2012.*

This essay was originally published on January 1, 2013. It was a second part of a December 24, 2012 essay and intended to suggest that elements of the December 14, 2012 school shooting in Newtown were at least partially contrived. Statements from the piece, such as the possibility that “crisis actors” may have been deployed in such an exercise, were subsequently taken out of context by major news media to attack the author for analyzing overall reportage of the massacre.

CIA Propaganda Strategy for Warren Commission Report

Communiqué encouraged media assets to counter notions of “political conspiracy”

Fifty years ago today Lyndon B. Johnson’s Commission on the Assassination of President Kennedy, otherwise known as the Warren Commission, released the well-known report of its findings. The document is of special significance given that it is still the narrative jointly upheld by the US government and mainstream media. This is the case despite the fact that the Commission’s work has been repeatedly proven as flawed, if not intentionally misleading.

The Climategate Emails

climate-gate-imageBy John Costella

The most difficult thing for a scientist in the era of Climategate is trying to explain to family and friends why it is so distressing to scientists. Most people don’t know how science really works: there are no popular television shows, movies or books that really depict the everyday lives of real scientists; it just isn’t exciting enough. I’m not talking here about the major discoveries of science—which are well-described in documentaries, popular science series, and magazines—but rather how the week-by-week process of science (often called the “scientific method”) actually works.
